With hurricane season beginning June 1, 2026, now is the time for South Florida homeowners, HOAs, and commercial property owners to schedule pre-season structural assessments before engineer calendars fill up. Florida condo and cooperative associations should also take note as the December 31, 2026 state deadline to complete both a Milestone Inspection and Structural Integrity Reserve Study (SIRS) is approaching fast. Missing it carries serious consequences, including daily fines exceeding $500, potential vacate orders, and personal liability for board members.
