ES Project Spotlight

Sanford Ave – Residential Single Family House

We were privileged to be involved in the project at Sanford Ave., a property designed to showcase the timeless elegance of the Monterey Colonial architectural style.

Our responsibilities encompassed a thorough examination of the current infrastructure to assess its compatibility with the proposed architectural plan. This involved the substitution of a section of the existing roof framing system with prefabricated roof trusses, and conversion of an existing balcony into a conditioned bedroom space. Additionally, we supplied wind pressure diagrams and standard window/door specifications to aid in the adjustment of the current window and door layouts.

News & Resources

Beach erosion, as evidenced by the alarming situation in Jupiter Inlet Colony, presents a significant concern for structural engineering. The rapid loss of shoreline not only results in steep drop-offs, making beach access treacherous, but also undermines the stability of nearby structures. The erosion has already caused damage to several high-value homes, washing away fences, pool structures, vegetation, and parts of patios. Despite the devastation to the surrounding landscape, the structural integrity of these homes, which represent substantial investments, underscores the importance of implementing effective engineering solutions to mitigate the impacts of coastal erosion. Addressing beach erosion is crucial not only for preserving the aesthetic appeal of coastal areas but also for safeguarding the resilience and longevity of coastal infrastructure.
