200 East Boca Raton Road Mixed-Use Development

Project Overview
Engineering Solutions provided structural engineering services for the shoring design and shoring inspections of the new construction structure located at 200 East Boca Raton Road in Boca Raton, FL. The scope consisted of the design of the formwork shoring and reshoring system supporting the elevated cast-in-place concrete slabs and beams during placement and curing, coordinated with the construction schedule and the contractor's proposed pour sequence. Deliverables included sealed shoring plans, layouts, and details covering shore spacing, stringer and joist sizing, bracing, and reshoring levels, along with load capacity criteria for each supported level. Engineering Solutions also performed periodic field shoring inspections prior to each concrete placement, verifying installed shoring against the sealed documents and issuing inspection reports for the building department and the construction team, in accordance with the Florida Building Code.
The Challenge
Supporting freshly placed elevated concrete slabs and beams on an active, tight urban jobsite while sequencing shore removal and reshoring so no level is loaded before the concrete reaches the required strength.
Our Solution
A sealed shoring and reshoring system engineered to the pour sequence, with defined shore spacing, bracing, and reshore levels, backed by field shoring inspections before every placement and signed inspection reports for the building department.
