Dunbar Road Residence
Project Overview
Engineering Solutions provided structural consultation and design support for the renovation of an existing residence on Dunbar Road in Palm Beach, FL. The scope began with an assessment of existing conditions to identify load-bearing elements requiring structural hardening for code compliance. Engineering Solutions then evaluated the proposed architectural program and issued recommendations for the structural renovation and reconfiguration of load-bearing components, including replacement of fire-damaged floor joists and local reinforcement of existing structural elements. Deliverables were structural contract documents suitable for building department submission, comprising general notes, wind pressure diagrams, framing and roof plans for the proposed changes, and structural reinforcement details. The renovation was designed to comply with the Florida Building Code 8th Edition (2023) and to withstand all applicable structural loading criteria.
