North Lake Way Residence
Project Overview
Engineering Solutions is providing structural engineering services for the renovation and relocation of a luxury residence on North Lake Way in Palm Beach, FL. Scope includes foundation redesign to support a 36" home shift and a 1'-6" elevation increase, window and door reconfigurations with precise structural detailing, front entry column and garage renovations including a new flat roof and CMU walls, new rear loggia structures with reworked roof framing, interior wall reconfigurations with structural load-path analysis, and site structures such as privacy walls, equipment pads, and steps. All work is designed for durability and elegance in compliance with the 2023 Florida Building Code.
The Challenge
Physically shifting an existing waterfront home 36" laterally and raising it 1'-6" while preserving the historic façade, coordinating temporary support, and reworking load paths throughout the structure.
Our Solution
Complete foundation redesign paired with engineered temporary shoring and lifting support, new CMU and flat-roof framing at the entry and garage, new rear loggia structures, and load-path analysis for all reconfigured interior walls, all detailed to the 2023 Florida Building Code.
