Engineering Solutions is providing structural design and detailing for the renovation of Schumacher Volkswagen of West Palm Beach. The project involves smart structural upgrades to support modern mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, improve ceiling height, and optimize building performance — all while adhering to the Florida Building Code (2023). Key features include structural beam web penetrations for MEP ductwork, CMU wall brace modifications, slab-on-grade trenching design, and signed and sealed structural detail drawings.
The Challenge
Routing modern MEP systems and gaining ceiling height within an existing, operating dealership structure without compromising the capacity of its beams, masonry walls, or slab.
Our Solution
Engineered beam web penetrations sized for the new ductwork, modified CMU wall bracing, and slab-on-grade trenching details, documented in signed and sealed structural drawings meeting the Florida Building Code (2023).
